I wonder how much of the increased use in DAS is the result of Disney promoting the online advance registration. I recall seeing it everywhere a few years ago. Possibly some! Honestly using DAS with those stopped being worth it to us because we'd miss and delete them anyway.

Having an open ended return is more helpful when you are dealing with a disability.

Especially since the times were often late in the day too - which for me is bad - I stopped doing them. Honestly I hope they remove this to make it less appealing. The 10 min wait after should help too.

I wonder if they widen the criteria for DAS. As we hear now even Jen would not have qualified .

Except Universal includes unlimited free fast passes for their onsite deluxe guests. I think disney needs to bring back some form of FP for onsite guests - maybe three for deluxe, two for moderate, and one for value - since they seem to be into tiering. We don't go to the parks anymore. Certainly an interesting idea, and I'd not complain. But still wasn't seeing how the ratios posted above would cause the FP/LL line to be longer than the ration before payment was introduced. Seems that it would be shorter.
Cheers.
Because with the ratios above, more people move through the LL before they allow 1 in the regular line to move. Hence if you are waiting in standby, you now have to wait for 10 people in the fast pass lane to move before one can move in standby. prior to the new system, it was less, something like fast pass lane would move four people then allow one person in the standby line to proceed forward. Thus they have more than doubled the amount they allow fast pass to proceed forward before allowing standby people to move - also why standby lines are so long and why I hate the parks now.

Well it has taken a lot of the fun out of standing in a line when you become aware that you’re not moving forward at all… That ratio makes me wonder because it isn’t just a 10 to 1 …It seems more like 10 groups of people that are together versus one group . It doesn’t matter if those 10 groups equaled 40 and the group of one was just 2 people. That seems to be the way a cast person has to interpret the flow . So it’s not just 10/1 it could be 40/2 and so on … I also sense that this is creating a different problem that defines the crowds. Hopefully the new DAS changes are helpful and improve the experience .

I wonder if they widen the criteria for DAS. As we hear now even Jen would not have qualified . As a DAS user, I am curious to see how this will play out. I haven't checked any of the disability forums to see how people are faring with their video interviews since the changes. We were able to use DAS on our May the Fourth trip to Disneyland. The only thing I noticed was a sigh and slight eyeroll when we stopped at the guest service umbrella in DL on Star Wars Night. I suspect the sigh was because our group has multiple people who qualified for DAS, though only two using it, but I interpreted that as the CM thinking we were gaming the system. Who knows. I shouldn't try to interpret others thoughts. One thing I thought interesting about DL was that at some rides, those without LL, they would have us go directly to the exit and we would be given a card and a return time to come back. I thought that worked well. Normally if I need a longer break because of my health issues, at WDW, I return to our resort. Sometimes will go to First Aid because they have cots to lay on if needed. This trip we were at a hotel off site, about fifteen minutes walk. I was able to use the very nice DVC lounge to take a long break, about an hour. Was thankful to have access. Our next trip will be over NYE at WDW, so will be keeping an eye on how the program shifts. One thing I think has contributed to the issues, so much of the "non ride" entertainment has not returned, and hours are shorter. People are trying to cram more in, in fewer hours.

The real changes go into effect on Monday for Florida (DLR not until a month later). Those who registered since April have been under old rules. Though apparently they have become more strict the last few months anyway. More CMs have been hired though. I have seen an uptick in party sizes being insanely large. Like 10-15+ I got cut off by such a family once. DAS person ran to the front and then made us wait until the entire party went through. If these changes fix that, I won't mind.

Even Jen was told she would not qualify for the DAS . Every time she in long lines she was afraid someone would fall on her .
I am worried I will not qualify either. I can imagine coping without the DAS . I am afraid it will be the end of my Wdw days .

So now many is us will be without das? How are you going to handle the lines ?
I go in July and it will be my first time without das . I will be alone again since Jen’s death .
I may use Genie plus if I can figure out how to stack . Any hints ? I like Brian’s idea of wandering around and ride only if line is under 30 minutes .

Do you think the changes are due to the need to reduce the length of the lightening lanes?

I may use Genie plus if I can figure out how to stack . Any hints ? I like Brian’s idea of wandering around and ride only if line is under 30 minutes . First, make sure you still do the virtual call and explain your needs and worries. As for stacking… works great for afternoon / evening and you can then use Brian’s advice for earlier on. This is what I would do. 1. Make a list of what you’d like to ride with G+ The aim would be to save the most time on rides you’d really like to ride that have long lines. 2. At 7am (can actually be any time before the park opens), book your first one. Take whatever time you get given. 3a. The app will show you when you can book again, but assume 2 hrs. 3b. Set an alert to go off 10 minutes before your next booking time. 4. Check the return times for that first G+ ride and Modify the G+ if the time is better for you. 5. when the alarm goes off, book another ride. Set the alarm again for 1 hr, 50 minutes. Repeat. By the time 3pm comes around you could have booked 4 rides for the evening. You can then just switch to grabbing what’s available in the next few minutes - stuff like Pirates can often be available sooner than the standby line.

For this understand the questions are similar but more specific. Not just autism per reports. More specialized which is good in a way. I'm sure some will be upset but sounds decent with reports so far.
