As to the MF @ FW:
We bought AKV in 2016...and CCV in 2019.
In 2019, CCB was $7.42 pp - only VB & HHI were higher. AKV was $7.44 at that time.
In 2024, we paid $8.09 for CCV (an increase of $0.67) and $9.08 for AKV (an increase of $1.64). CCV is now 4th lowest (BLT $7.59, AUL $7.34, VGF $7.57 are lower).
Here's hoping the FW MF doesn't predict the next 7 years. If so, we just might be selling!

Another month has gone by, and another huge miss for sales at the Cabins.
Thanks to Will Lovato, over at DVC News, we can see the latest sales numbers for the month of May. Only 3490 points were sold for the Ft Wilderness Cabins, for a total of 30,151 total points. There were three purchases at OKW that totaled 3400 points, almost the Cabins total for the month.
For the month of May, OKW sold 50,486 points thanks to that tremendous sale DVC had for the resort. Riviera is chugging along with 74,589 points sold in May.

Only 3490 points were sold for the Ft Wilderness Cabins I don't know much, but that seems quite sucky! This made me laugh out loud! Wish I was buying 1000 points or whatever at OKW. Of course, I would NOT like my MF bill come mid-December.

That's just sad. Seriously. Especially knowing there have 2,750,792 points left to sell out of 2,780,943.

Ouch!! That means only 1.1% of points have sold and the first month is usually the best. If they keep the ~3500 points per month pace from this point forward, it will only take only 65 1/2 years to sell out. LOL

If they could do 10k points a month (current average) it will be 23+ years.

And everyone that bought wants October and December.

Cheers.

Summer will likely not be a popular time. People don't want to be in Florida in summer if they have a choice? Wonder why Cheers. I was talking about the bugs at Ft. Wilderness, not really FL in the summer in general. Some of us thrive in 95 degree temps and are comfortable in them! Yes, I'm weird but I loathe anything under 70 - even 70 I'd rather not be outdoors unless super sunny. Disney does great with pest control in most areas of the parks and resorts, but even BLT struggles with bugs a few times of year and Ft. Wilderness is a true mess in the summer with them.

Did someone say bugs? I've never stayed at FW, so didn't know that was a problem there. I'm glad you mentioned it so that if I ever try the FW cabins (which I probably will since I want to try every product at least once), it won't be in the summer.

As someone who has never really paid attention to the actual real numbers, what is considered "healthy sales?" Obviously, 3490 is not. Since Riviera is selling relatively slowly, I'm guessing that even 75k is below DVC's desired numbers. Also, since Aulani is considered a flop, do you have any idea of the average monthly sales for them?

cheers.

There is a reason why fall and winter will be popular. I do love Ft Wilderness to visit but know the downfalls. I'm so sorry. Bummer. I think I've only been bit at the MK area a couple of times, but mosquitos don't bite me much nor do I itch. My spouse does though and has had a few more than me. One May at BLT wasn't great, but not awful. I know the campground is way worse.
