Hello! I’m confused and looking for help. I thought DVC Poly owners could start making reservations today? Do I have it wrong? Yes, but only by phone! No online capabilities at this time. Hello! I’m confused and looking for help. I thought DVC Poly owners could start making reservations today? Do I have it wrong? Nope it is not today and when they do start taking reservations on the date it is only for current owners at the new tower not owners of the existing units. This is incorrect. It is for all new and existing members. Website flat out stated it. I booked 2 different trips this morning using old, new and even resale points.

Are you sure you booked the Island Tower? I looked today and could book the DVC Poly but with further search I worried it was not for the Island Tower and just gave up cause it was too confusing.

Yup... Until November 19, you have to call to book or even modify. Reading reports of hours taken to get through. Hold times of over an hour. Never mind the ones who couldn't even get in the queue. It was described as hunger games and probably accurate. As long as you have Polynesian points (original, resale as well as new, doesn't matter) you can book now. Otherwise you have to wait. But if you want to do it online you have to call.

Thank you all for the responses. Calling only - what a nightmare. Curious - has this occurred with previous new openings? Will give it a try tomorrow.

Likely because software isn't set up right to handle points properly. There are a few cases where a CM mistakenly used non PVB points for the reservation if moving locations. Owners found out after the fact. A rare few but that's probably one reason why - humans know but changing rules online is harder. Come Nov 19 all can book online.

So happy for your upcoming plans at new Tower …now you just have to count the days! I guess I wasn’t certain about the process and didn’t want to risk losing my Poly stay this December in the original DVC not the new but the old… I hope they let me enter the new Tower to check it out.

I guess I wasn’t certain about the process and didn’t want to risk losing my Poly stay this December in the original DVC not the new but the old… I hope they let me enter the new Tower to check it out. There is talk that the tower might be key entry. There will be no check in there. BLT was run in this manner at first, but changed. So we shall see for the tower what will be done. You can check availability here disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/destinations/list/florida/polynesian-villas-bungalows/points-roomsEnter your dates at the top. You need to be logged in to see it. There is nothing to be concerned about with trying for new. They'll just modify your stay and nothing will be lost. Your current reservation doesn't get removed or canceled unless a new is booked. Hopefully today will not be as bad as yesterday.

like the studio layout but, for some reason, the studio looks smaller.

like the studio layout but, for some reason, the studio looks smaller. Per official stats it is smaller sq footage than longhouses but the bathroom is a lot smaller. It's 387 vs 447 sq ft It's larger than most studios as a whole but living in it will matter on how it really is.

This is what some stated were declared before selling.
Breakdown of Available Units The newly declared units offer a variety of room types to cater to different preferences and needs:
9 Duo Studios 14 Dedicated Studios 4 Dedicated One-Bedrooms 10 Lockout Two-Bedrooms 1 Dedicated Two-Bedroom 2 Two-Bedroom Deluxe unit
I just realized this. We have a dedicated 2 bedroom. Only theme park views will be dedicated (with murphy beds this is more than fine for us) but when I looked at availability online, only some of our days are gone. Makes me think they declared more but it hasn't been recorded yet thanks to Milton.
The first of the 1st day purchases are starting to be recorded. There was talk that there was going to be another declaration on the 8th and maybe the hurricane delayed it being posted to the comptroller as they were closed a few days last week.
I am looking through the Comptroller and Deeds started showing up yesterday. Mostly now Oct 1-3. So far PVB sold in one day last month's CFW in the first day that was marked for selling (not all deeds were signed the day people purchased as weird as it is). Day two outsold. Day three isn't far off from what it sold in a bad month.
Oct 1: 52 deeds for 6419 Oct 2: 63 deeds for 8478 Oct 3: 20 deeds for 2351
Total so far is 17,248 points sold.
Oct 3 just started showing up today, but in that mix are still Oct 1 & 2nd
Two fixed weeks sold. One week 50 1 bedroom theme park. One week 50 studio standard. Highest sold so far was the fixed week 1 bedroom for 426 points. Lowest was 25 but only 1 of those. A 30 and a 31 as well. A number of 50s but a lot more three digit.

FYI....I called DVC this afternoon to see if I could switch 2 nights of my daughter's Poly reservation to the Poly Tower. I own Poly but DH prefers staying at BCV & BLT. Go figure. Anyway, it was no problem whatsoever switching, though I had to take the more points' Castle View. I was also offered the 2-person tiny room like I believe RIV has, but I didn't want it for them and would have kept the 'old' Poly if that was only thing available.
I was actually shocked I got them switched in like 90 seconds. The reservation is end of January.
