I give it 3-5 years, which is a good run. The service will make or break it. If it’s great service, it will be popular and profitable. They are still lining up at Gideons and I did not like their cookies or cake. 1 and done! Not requiring park admission to dine there is a plus and BW is a great atmosphere for a after-cake stroll!🤣. Gideon's has an interesting interior. Only once have I waited in line at G's and it was because it was super short, for some reason. At the door there is a WL to join. The staff will call you back when the line is a 10/15 minute wait. They usually say the WL is 5 hours but I give my name anyway and it's never been that long. Our SIL collects the cards.

We have walked by the Gideon's line a number of times, but never joined the list. From what I understand, it's just an overly large chocolate chip cookie, yes?
Cheers.

The cookie's are the same size as the MK bakery on the right side of Main, heading towards the Castle. Their products weight so much - 3 cookies feels like carrying around a brick. Gideon's usually has about 6 cookie options and 4 cake slice options. Can't actually remember G's having choco chip cookies. I usually get the coffee cake cookie (they always say it sells out but I've bought them in the evening), which we take home and cut up to bite size sections for the 'kids'. We bought cake slices once but they are so rich and so large that I ended up taking them home too. For me, it's all about the inside décor plus I earn 'pixie' points from the In-Laws.

I am looking forward to a nicer option on the Boardwalk. I often stay and don’t visit a park, so if I can walk to CBS and have a nice meal or snack I welcome them. Beaches and cream is so tough to get also so you cant just walk over there without a reservation. Hopefully they do something more fitting with BRG space that balances the Boardwalk out. It’s vacation cake. I wont spend it everyday but it has its place if you eat cake. Just to add if you like Beaches & Cream, check out the Fountain at the Dolphin. You can just walk there and get a dining reservation. Do I think this wilk be popular? Probably. So getting Cake Bake reservations might be tough. Why do I think it's going to be popular? Princess lovers are everywhere. You rang? I am indeed a Princess lover. That said, I’m not a lover of this place. Just to add if you like Beaches & Cream, check out the Fountain at the Dolphin. Princess lovers are everywhere. True......Except for those prices, there better be a princess walking around to each table. Otherwise, its just a fancy and expensive cake place. Bingo. And perhaps a good idea when they don’t do as well as they anticipated… I do agree that there is a reason this is located next to a wedding venue. Better off next to Franck’s, sure, but hey this was sitting there empty. Agreed with the two year lifespan prediction.

Sadly for you I think the only princesses will be little ones. But who knows, maybe some bridal parties will go before the wedding Agree way more fitting by the wedding pavilion. Spa right there too

Could be some pleasant visuals for the grumpy old man sipping his coffee in the corner...

I was just sitting here waiting for a doc appt and got curious. Checked the prices at both the Indianapolis shops for comparison. Food items ranged from a $4 difference (apps and soups) to a $7 difference (some cakes) to a $9 difference (sandwiches, salads, and some other cakes) from WDW. Not sure I would visit either as I am not generally a big sweets person. The shops look lovely and several of the soups and salads look interesting, but the prices are so steep.

I have to say things seemed much higher this trip. We just got back from a short stay at Copper Creek (loved it). We got 2 Bison burgers and 2 drinks at Geyser Point and it was over $90.
So not sure of how these prices stack up.

I have no plans to go there but I wonder if the $8 coffee is just a cup of Nescafe that they (hopefully) refill or if it something like the $9.45 press pot next door at the Trattoria. The Trattoria does say it serves two but that means it is a 2 cup press pot and I know I would definitely go through one buy myself. The Trattoria does sell a normal refillable cup for 4 or 5 bucks.
Gideon's is also not for me and as Disney bubble price mark up goes the cookies are a dollar cheaper at the East End Market which us just 30 minutes away. I am guessing the rent cost may have an impact on the prices at both places.

We wandered by there and, as noted, the cake side is outrageous. They have a restaurant side and the prices were not too bad for Disney, Almost reasonable, unlike the cake side.
Cheers.

I was at the BakeShop Bakery and they did say they had an early discount for DVC only for early lunch. Did not think to ask if this was for Bakery or Restaurant side or if the DVC had to be specifically checked in at the BoardWalk .

If there is a discount we might try it once, but still not really my vibe. Reviews from those I know who went say it's an experience more than the food. Not that the food is awful but when one isn't really into the vibe.. and the cakes are not made fresh so there's that. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there though.

Interested to know if there is a DVC Cake slice discount at CBS. Yes. They cut 10% off the slice and charge the same price
Cheers.
