So, most of us already know each other, and have been online friends for a long time. And I know that we are happy to have a new place to call home. Thanks to everyone who was instrumental in setting this up! However, the nosy nurse in me wanted a thread just for introductions. Just want to share a bit about yourself? Changed your user name from the original site? Totally new to the group and want to be fully indoctrinated into the cult (um, I mean community)? Step right up! I’ll start… 😂
I’m Mindy. Happily married to a wonderful guy for 32 years. We have a son, daughter in law, and our princess. I’ve been a nurse for almost 26 years, and I still love helping people. Have tons of other hobbies that no one wants to hear about. Lol. We take yearly trips to our happy place in November, and any other time I can find an excuse to sneak off to WDW. I’m so excited to see so many familiar names, and want to extend a welcome to any new friends who may find us! Now come on. Do NOT make me call people out already. Next…

I'm still helenabear - which is not Helen A Bear but Helena Bear (rofl) aka Elaine. I'm married with one kid, now a teenager in HS. My work is a weird mix of IT and web work mixed with me going back to school to get some certificates in gemology. I cannot tell you which I like more, Disney or working with gems while still using some of my training in college.
I've worked with this software for the last 15 years. So while some has changed since I first started using I know this software well. Never hesitate to ask for help. I'm mostly a softie so likely be super kind but I'm a sarcastic twit at times too. I try to remember to use smiles when being sarcastic though.

I kept the same username to keep it simple. My name is Elizabeth. I’m married with 2 kids who were so young when we first bought DVC and are growing up so fast. We live in Houston. I’m an attorney by trade, but I’m not currently practicing. We typically go to WDW a couple of times a year. Only one of those trips per year usually includes my husband who limits himself to once a year as he gets “Disneyed out”. Kids and I sneak away for a few more trips if we can, but it’s getting harder and harder the older they get. We go to DL once every 2 years. I’m very happy about the new forum and excited to see so many familiar names.

Good morning. I am AnnaS - I did not realize when this site was first up and being tested I had created a Username. Not sure why I changed it. After seeing a FB post that it was up and running again last night, I tried to log in and was waiting approval, not remembering, I created Username AnnaS. I was looking at site again and somehow, it might have recognized my email address and let me in. I now have two Usernames - I started to use this one since I had already participated about 18 months ago. That's the story behind that.
Married 40 years. I have not worked full-time since I had my first son. I have three grown married children with their own families. I have 4 grandchildren and two more coming. One grandson any day and another grandson in May. I will have 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Two of my sons are also DVC members and own small contracts. We have been members for 22 + plus years. We have been to Disney a ton of times, Vero Beach and Hilton Head a few times and have cruised DCL many times. My daughter was in the Disney College Program where she met her husband. She was engaged in Disney, married in Disney and did the baby reveal in Disney.
I did work part-time for about 30 + plus years. This allowed me to be home with my children and eventually help babysit my grandchildren. I did retire early three years ago when my second son had his first child to help him. We share babysitting with the other grandparents.
This has limited our free/traveling time. We don't mind and love to do it but because of it, always on a schedule. We manage to take two trips a year and sometimes a weekend here and there locally.
Excited for this new site. My IP has been banned from MO for months so have been away from there for a while.
Thank you again.

Hi I am Carla. I use EEGRAM on the other site as well. I have two granddaughters Ella and Eva thereby the E E Gram. I have been a DVC member since 2016. My first resort purchase was VGF direct. I have since bought and sold many contracts. Right now I have my original VGF and AKL. I am retired as of 2021. My DD and GDs used to go to WDW at least once if not twice a year but since COVID have only been once. The lack of APs, no FP and crazy crowds does has dampened our enthusiasm a bit. Hoping things start changing soon. Thank you for starting this site. Looking forward to continuing on.

Hey Everyone! I am so glad someone posted in the original forum as I didn't know this site was official! Janine here: born and raised in CA Bay Area, raised my 2 daughters in Colorado, and moved to West Palm Beach area when husbands "dream job" came along. I miss Colorado like a missing thumb. I'm retired from the Air Force and as I like to say, a failure at retirement! I currently trying to find something to do that fills my intrinsic reward meter! I have a 15year old chihuahua [after being raised with Boxers and as an adult with 5 Great Danes, I never EVER thought I would own a chihuahua!] Savior Chalupa Carlos Santana. I know I know, he was born dead/brought back to life a la 101 Dalmations style/pick of the litter and somehow we ended up with him and SWORE we would never call him by his name yet....here we are! Savey for short. We joined DVC in 2008 when one and only grandchild came along. My husband has become the Disney addict but this past year I had my fill of the Disney nonsense, so now he is channeling his energies into endless Disney vlogs and cruising We own at AKL and just love LOVE our home resort! It truly feels like 2 vacations in 1! I typically read the forum everyday, and rarely post. Besides the comfortable banter of the forum, I love how I can get my no-nonsense info/tips from us 'Magic Owners'. This is truly, oh gosh dare I say it.... a MAGICAL group. hahaha!!

Hello MO friends! Thanks for the invite to the new site. I'm MinnieMomofOne on MO. I am keeping my fingers crossed this community continues. I'm Amy. My husband Craig and I have one daughter, Samantha. We have been active WDW fans for about 10 years now. The video above highlights a trip from several years ago back, which may well have been our favorite ever.
My current project is starting a campground in South Carolina. We are now full time RVers while working through the design/build of this new business.

Hi everyone. I am excited for this new site to be officially starting. My user name had to change slightly. On MouseO. I am “It’s Me”. Here I had to change it a bit to get it to work. I was just happy I could get logged in lol. My real life name is Joann, most people call me Jo. I answer to pretty much anything (rofl) It’s just me and my DH. We live in NJ. We thought work was going to move us to FL a few years ago, we’d been scouting communities on each visit to WDW, as well as some “house hunting” only visits. Then Covid hit. for a bit our move was still happening, but life changed and we are still here in NJ There is still the possibility of moving but we are in limbo. I grew up on Disney, watching the wonderful world of Disney on Sunday nights. However my family could not afford to take us all to Disney world. So it wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I became a Disney world fan. My BFF had been to WDW and DL many times and we did a girls trip to WDW, my first trip there, and I was hooked. Made a few trips after that with my boyfriend (now husband) and one with the same BFF and her husband. On one of those trips we toured BWV, but didn’t buy - we were planning a wedding, saving to buy a house, timing wasn’t right. After DH and I were married, our first trip as DH and DW we stayed at AKL. During that stay BCV became our first home. The only thing we both said we were sad about buying, was that AKL was not yet DVC, and had no idea it would be. So we thought we may not be back there any time soon Little did we know a few years later, AKV would be the newest DVC resort and an ad on was in our future. In recent years we have thought about downsizing some of our points because we haven’t been thrilled with the changes at the parks. But this last trip we did our first resort only trip (at SSR) and we really enjoyed our time there and the slower pace. It was also nice pre-trip to not feel the need to plan every day. So for now at least, we are holding them all.

I may change it from time to time, depending on how my week is going, and which hospital I'm at that day.

Hi all,
I'm Brian, 41, originally from New Jersey, now in Sanford, Florida. About 45-55 minutes from WDW... I'll take it for sure.
I work in Finance/Accounting as a Controller for a metals manufacturer. It's a job, ha. Been in accounting my whole career. From makeup to meat to juices to metals. Never anything too useful to me... But unfortunately once stuck in manufacturing I've been stuck for good, and not all companies realize numbers are numbers. Oh well, it is what it is.
I've been a DVC owner since 2008, and became familiar with the product right around the time of the first rumors of a DVC location near the Contemporary Resort. Indeed, most of my points (400) are at Bay Lake Tower. Also own 100 points at VGF and 100 at VGC. I'll stay everywhere though, always fun to see what shows up for the random weekend visit. In fact I find myself visiting WDW most weekends now, but of course don't always stay there.
Free time I enjoy watching sports, movies, and needless to say keeping up with Disney-related news and such.
Oh, and for the few who don't know I'm single and always looking. Always. Ideally something long-term, sure, but at this point I'm always open to anything.

And fix your alien...

Hello all, I'm Laura. Happily married for 26 years, almost 27; our anniversary is now better known as a Star Wars holiday which is okay with us as we're big Star Wars fans. We have two boys who are 22 and 18 and grew up with Disney as part of their lives. DH and I first visited WDW in high school (though not together, lol). The next trip for both of us was our honeymoon and we've been making trips every few years or so since. In 2002, we rented points to stay at OKW for the first time and fell in love with the resort. Since then, we've rented points and stayed at OKW each trip. For our big family trip in 2017 (us, my mom, and brother) we stayed in a 2BR villa for the first time and were hooked. While planning another family trip in a 2BR villa for our 25th anniversary in 2021 (postponed to 2022), we ran the numbers and decided to take the plunge and become owners in 2020 rather than continuing to rent points. I'm mostly a lurker on MO but become more active when we have a trip in the works or I somehow find a little bit of work/life balance to do something other than work. We both plan to retire in the next 10 years and look forward to having more free time to play golf and travel to Disney parks and other places around the country/world.
