Hi all! Nice to see everyone over here. Same username from MO. I'm Rachel. I live in Ohio with my husband and two kids (DS13 & DD8). I joined MO while learning about DVC and shopping resale contracts. We bought at BLT in 2016, literally in the midst of all of the "blue card" drama. We have since bought another contract at BLT and one at Riviera. We've been traveling to Disney as a family regularly since 2010. Since becoming DVC members, we typically travel 2-3 times a year. People eventually stopped saying "you're going AGAIN?" and started asking "when is your next trip?"  I'm sure you all can relate. After four trips (2 Disney, 1 Washington DC, and 1 Niagara Falls) last year, we decided to take a Disney break. Disney is still my happy place and I know I'll miss it, there have been so many changes (I'm looking at your Genie+) that we decided it was time to take other vacations. We gave up our APs (I know, I know) and rented our 2023 points and decided to take a 2-week trip out west this summer. If APs come back in 2024, we may buy again, if not, we'll likely continue to rent out some points and take more easy-going vacations. |

As much as I love DS1 & his +1… My knucklehead would like to do this in June at MK w/ both families in attendance! My response was HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING ABOUT THE 7mo MARK! How exciting! I also think this would be my response Good luck! |

Hi friends! I’m also chrisvee on MO. I’ve been a DVC owner since 2014 so that’s about how long I’ve been hanging around MO. While I been at WDW over 30 times I still have a lot to learn. It’s like they deliberately make it complicated.  I’m in my late 50s and starting to look longingly towards retirement. I live in southeastern PA and go to WDW about 3-4 times a year. I’ve never been to Disneyland or in a cruise — yet! I work in the property casualty insurance industry and enjoy spending my free time with all my Disney fans including 3 godkids (20s) and niece/nephew (11/9). While I’m not here every day I do love checking in to see how everyone is doing. |

Hi, I’ve had the same screen name since that original board before MO and was able to use the same here. Not a huge poster many times a reader. Love trip reports, always look forward to Sue’s and others. Loved Laura’s adventure of buying her first vacation home in FL to becoming a full time resident.
We have been owners since 1997, added on, sold to add on. Because at some point you really don’t need all those points or more, so I try to even it out.
My two ‘kids’ grew up going to Disney. My son who just turned 25 was three months old on his first trip. My daughter has been going since she was 4, soon to turn 32. Our traveling has changed from going at least twice a year, plus. Long trip early December for Christmas festivities and any other trips in between. Now there are shorter trips, when our son was in college in central Fl we would do long weekends see him throw in a couple of nights in Disney.
Disney has changed and airfares are ridiculous. We are on the east coast. My husband and I went this past March and what I paid for the two of us, I used to fly 4 adults. So, we shall see how our Disney trips change. Gone are the days of, hey great airfare special, let’s get out of the cold and go to Disney for a few days.
I will say for the longest time Helena, I read your name as Helen a bear. Until it came up in a thread many years ago.😊

HI All, First, thanks for getting the new site up and running! My name is Amy and DH and I have been married for 17 years and we a 14 yo DS. We actually got married at the GF Wedding Pavilion with a small group of family in attendance. A year later, we bought DVC AKL points and have enjoyed going ever since. This past year we had our first add-on points for SSR. We love Disney Cruise Line as well. We just completed our 7th DCL cruise over Christmas (possible trip report coming). When we were planning for our first cruise, I made the mistake of using our DVC points for the cruise, and I learned from MO that was a waste of our points and I should have rented them out instead! Lesson learned! This is a fun and knowledgeable community and am glad it's continuing.
