Hello to everyone...I'm Jeff and live in Arizona. Married for 20 years with one REALLY great son. We have been Disney fans for a long time and have been off and on again DVC members since 2008. Sold all our DVC during Covid due to economic pressures and the limitations in the parks for a period of time. At one time we had owned at BLT, GCV, BCV, PVB, VWL. After an extended period of contemplation, we currently have a pending contract for Poly. Looking forward to a holiday trip in December 2023. REALLY hoping they bring back annual passes and fix several of the issues everyone has mentioned...park reservations, Genie +, etc. also want to say for the millionth time even though I know it is gone forever...We REALLY miss Osbourne Lights...  I have been in hospitality management in various capacities for...probably way too long...LOL. The last few years were a bit tough but hoping the future is brighter than the past few years for sure. I can't remember how long I was on MO but probably 10 + years...maybe? Mostly just enjoyed reading more than responding but glad to see the "2.0" and hoping it will continue to be a great place for all things Disney and DVC...thank you all for all the great knowledge over the years... |

Hello Everybody,
I'm Daniel, I have an 8 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. My wife and I grew up traveling to Disney together as we were high school sweethearts and when we had kids we just kept going. We joined DVC in 2011 after renting some points from someone for a trip in 2010 from MO. We've got just over 800 points all at Saratoga. We love to stay at Saratoga but also love using the points at Riviera and other resorts.
We are from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and have done the drive to Disney Land 3 times and drove to Disney World 4 times (56 hours in the car 1-way). Spent a lot of time reading on MO not a ton of posts but certainly enjoyed the knowledge sharing.
Last year we ventured out and did 20 nights on the Disney Magic as it sailed from Miami to Barcelona, then we stayed on for a 7 day Mediterranean cruise then caught a train up to Paris and did 5 days at Disney Land Paris. My life revolves around my family first, then my Software Development business specializing in Web applications, and then Travel.
Glad the community is surviving. Thanks to Helena Bear for setting up this new community space.

Good evening -- DW and I are retired academics. We joined DVC in 2010. We just hosted five other adults for ten days in WDW, and the two of us have now started a "mini-snowbird" week there by ourselves. Our home resort is AKL, but family DVC point use in the past has also included Wilderness Lodge and Aulani.

Hi, still stellabutterman which is my daughter's name for strangers when she was little. Stella is also the beagle in my avatar, and she has a half-sister named Coco. I'm Becky, a retired English/Art teacher who now works part-time in a school library. My dream was to travel when school was in session once I retired, but that didn't quite happen yet. DH works in the medical field and is ready to retire. We have two kids, both in their twenties. DS is currently a missionary associate at the local university and has a degree in sport management aka recreation, and DD is studying theatre design tech. We live in rural Missouri. The three of them had their first Disney trip in 2011, but I've been going to Disneyland since the sixties and Disneyworld since the seventies. I’ve always loved the story behind your username. It’s just perfect! |

Well Hello All. henrycpa here, otherwise knows as Jamie. I am a behavioral health executive and father of a 30 year old son, 15 year old daughter (which is why I bought DVC in 2009) Audrey, and 3 amazing Grandchildren (F7, F2, M1), and my wife and master...Jodi...LOL! I recognize a lot of the names here so sure we will take right off. Hard to believe that your princess is 15. Yikes! I’m really excited to see so many familiar names here as well. I think we are off to a promising start! Howdy Pardners! Janet & Dan Baker, aka Bakerworld, living in Flourtown off of Mill Road. (I actually didn't put that together until another forum poster asked if we live on Candy Lane - LOL.) We have 3 progeny; 41, 38, 34. Our eldest asked me how long we were married Sunday (Orthodox Christmas) and I told her 'you +2'. We've retired in '21. We've now have 3 grands; 11, 3, 3months. Our youngest was talking about baby names so I guess that number might increase. We started going to WDW in '74 and started taking kids in '92 (I couldn't/wouldn't do it until everyone was fairly independent.) The kids were Disney'd out by HS but we kept going and OMG going as a couple was 'a whole new world' (yes, I just sang that). We joined DVC in '08. (Apparently there was a recession going on which worked out for us. DH explained it to me while we were leaving in the DVC van because I couldn't get over the low price. Believe it or not I'm the family CFO. I tried to hand it off to my Chepek but he Iger'd me.) Our fairly standard annual WDW vacations are March and October cause I like it when it's cooler. DVC introduced us to DCL and we do like a water view.

Hi everyone. I’m Heather from the Philly suburbs in PA. I had a different username on MO but took the chance to change since it was also my email address. 🙂 I’m a single, childless Disney adult (is that really a negative now) and have been a DVC member since 2003. My home resorts are SSR and BLT and I love them both. I’m In Disney at least twice a year but took a break in 2019 due to the 20th Member Cruise and too many walls. Thanks to COVID, that break was over 2 years. In real life, I’ve been WFH since pre-COVID and am lucky to have plenty of vacation days since I’m been with my company forever working with IT projects from the business side.
I was a regular lurker since 2008 on the old site and promise to try to be better here. I will definitely be a regular “like”er.

Hello everybody. My name is Jack aka raspus. Raspus was the name of my wife’s dog when I first met her. We’ve been married for 43 years. We both love Disney. My wife is a retired special ed teacher and I am a retired computer guy. We bought into DVC sight unseen back in 1996. We own at OKW and BWV. We enjoy all the Epcot festivals. Last year we finally made it to all the festivals and are planning to do it again this year.

Greetings all, Chuck here. I bought into DVC back in 2009 (living in Wichita, KS) and have loved it. In 2010, we moved to the Twin Cities where we finished raising our four children. Now, we have five grandkiddos that live in SC and FL, so in 2017 we moved to Jacksonville to be closer to them (split the difference). This year will be our 30th wedding anniversary when my wife and I will celebrate 28 years of happy marriage. I'm an accountant and have been spending the last 12 years doing ERP implementation for a large multi-national corporation.

Hi everyone!
I can’t remember how long ago I discovered mouseowners but it was before we purchased. We ended up with SSR resale-thanks to all the amazing advice from everyone back in early 2013! I definitely lurked a lot more than I contributed, mostly because I felt everyone had lots more expertise in planning Disney vacations than I did. My husband and I have been married 10 years and have a 6 and 4 year old. We were talking the other night and can’t remember how many times our 6 yr old has been to Disney! We live in New England but definitely use every school break we can to get down to Florida. I am extremely appreciative of the new admins giving of your time to get this board up and running! Thank you!

hello everyone !! I was leo122160 on MO. Dont post much, but enjoy the site and information and help !! We been going to DW longtime and will continue to. We now take our DGKIDS as much as we can.
Looking forward to this site and would like to commend and thank the admins & moderators for their dedication. Also would like to thank all at Mouseowners for their long time commitment over there.
These sites are better than the Birnbaum book of old days - LOL , even though the book was great too

Hello everyone! I'm Chris. Our household includes: my wife, I and a 4yr old girl and 11 yr old boy. I am a physician in Ohio. Have been hooked on Disney since my first visit when I was 8 with my parents. Joined DVC after attending an onboard presentation on the Disney Magic in late 2014. Came home and after researching bought resale points at Saratoga Springs. We are also hooked on Disney Cruises and are Gold Castaway Club members. Would like to work on Platinum but prices have definitely made us reconsider.
Joined original MouseOwners site in 2015 after joining DVC as well. This has been a great forum for information and friendship!

Hi everyone! I'm Tara, aka enginEARmom. As the username implies, I work as an engineer, and I'm mom to 2 kids (DD 16, DS 13). My husband of 17 years is an NP, after working for an RN for years and recently completing grad school. We bought 200 resale points at AKV in 2011, with the intention of visiting every 2 years for ~ 8 nights in a 2 BR. We've been going every 2 years since 2008, with a couple of shorter pre-kid trips before that. We love having the extra space of a DVC villa, and staying in a normal hotel room for other trips definitely feels like a downgrade. We like to alternate trips between our home resort (we favor Jambo over Kidani), and trying something new- so far it's been BLT, Beach Club, Vero, and Boardwalk. We live in Wisconsin, and this time of year always has me dreaming of a vacation somewhere warm. Now if I just had enough points to visit every year!

Hello! Glad to be in the new forum! We are from NC. DH & I have been married for 31 years with 2 DDs one is getting married in June (pray for me) and other DD is junior in HS.
Our family has been going to Disney at least once a year for the past 14 years. We finally became DVC owners April ’20 thru resale buying SSR & bought some direct points at RIV once DVC started selling again and then added some VGF resale.
DH teaches across the nation independent insurance agents & I sell cosmetics – the pink one for 31 years. 😊 I travel with DH if he is going somewhere fun but DW is still my fun escape. DH only goes because he loves me so I take a lot of girlfriend trips.
Thank you all for sharing your expertise! I've enjoyed getting to know several of you. Here’s to hoping our DW will get back to somewhat pre-Covid times!
