We get a car for WDW trips and go grocery shopping on the way from the airport. Since we go on weekdays, and arrive in the 5-6PM timeframe there's traffic. On our last trip, we went to the Publix at Orange Lake as we have been before and liked it. Problem was, there was traffic from airport to there as well as to the resort.
Is there a good location (Publix, Walmart, similar) closer to the Epcot Resorts area (we're at BWV) so we may only have to do the traffic slog once?
I figure locals may have some ideas.
Cheers.

Is the Publix on Universal Blvd convenient for you? It's right off of 528. That's our usual stop. We've also gone to the Publix in Celebration, on 192. IIRC it was about 15 minutes from BWV.

Also, if you want to save time, look at their curbside pickup option. It's worked well for us.

Also, if you want to save time, look at their curbside pickup option. It's worked well for us. Thanks all. Celebration is the one I was thinking of as we did go to that area a different day (non rush hour) to a great pizza place and it seemed OK. Likely not too bad at commute after we get there.
Curbside won't work as we don't know just what we want until we get there. And it's not so much about time, specifically, as about traffic. Psychological, really.
Cheers.

I have found the one in celebration seems to be the one used by the locals too

Publix by Celebration and Sunrise City Plaza are probably the same distance away. The Sunrise City Plaza one has a bunch of other stores right around it including a WalMart. However, I like the Celebration Publix better. I think it has a better selection.

I know that some are more susceptible to rush hour traffic based on location (distance aside), but it seems like Celebration may be the best option.

Just wanted to let you know Publix Grocery has Opened a new location at the end of World Drive .
Celebration Pointe 1725 Future Way 34747 407-999-9985
You might want to call to verify about Liquor Sales . They do have Wine Selection in Store currently and beer sales.
The Store has an upper level small casual dining area to get a view of the entire Store . I think the hours are 7 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Publix lakeside is about 2 miles North of the Magic Kingdom. Real easy to get to from the Epcot area, just run up World Drive and go either by the GF or GCV and make a right on Reams Road.

Wow, so many options!
We usually go there straight from the airport, and then to the resort. We never need to go back. All we buy in the alcohol category is wine, so the new one would be OK as well.
Main goal is minimizing traffic delays from airport to the gorcery and then from there to the Epcot Resorts Area. Actual distance is somewhat secondary. Tuesday's flight arrives at 6, so likely 6:30 by the time we leave with the car, so may be a little less traffic.
Cheers.

I'll add one more as I find the Publix closer to Disney to be not as good as others. Winn-Dixie on 11957 S Apopka Vineland Rd is nice. Great service and you can even order ahead if you like. Just up the road from DS hotels so an easy drive from BWV and the one I pick when nearby

We've found the Pubix adequate for what we get, but also like Winn Dixie. Order ahead only works if one has specific things in mind. We figure it out as we go from a basic list
Celebration Point Pubix looks like the winner for us.
Cheers.

Cheers. Oof no, don't do that - no way in heck I ever suggest driving I4 unles you need to! You turn onto Buena Vista Dr. and follow it along the hotels at Disney Springs and when it dead ends, make a left turn onto S. Apopka Vineland Rd. It's a really easy route to take and honestly, traffic doesn't seem to affect it time-wise if that makes sense.
