So a couple of us have noticed that the time is off. I've gotten up to 4 seconds knowing it is off and thinking it's probably about 5-6 seconds off from time.gov Anyone else have a good report on when the clock actually turns to 8am?

I’m trying again tomorrow…hopefully, the mind is the first to go! I’ll report back.

I’ve always been able to book by watching the world clock (or whatever it is on my Mac), and clicking the button immediately after the clock shows 8:00. Now that timing doesn't work! And I need to start walking two BoardWalk standard studios. Anyone else having a timing problem? Suggestions?

I just did some booking for BWV (and tried walking at 7 months though got shut out) and it was tight. What we saw with this was that it used to be you could search before 8am and select the resort right at 8am. Somewhere around this OP of mine, it changed. I have my search ready to go right before 8. Use time.gov and do my search. I move very fast after that. For 2 do you have 2 log ins (like 2 dvc members on different accounts)? I'd try one each and hope for the best.

I don't quite go to the extremes that some of you seem to, but I recently changed our reservation at the 7 month mark, and was able to book about 2 minutes before my PC said 8 am.

Your clock might be off then. I test it with time.gov and it's pretty spot on now. There were days when the room I'd want would be gone in less than a minute so I was running lots of tests recently lol PC clocks can be way off if the time isn't auto set. Even then you're at the mercy of your internet provider. Even my tablet is off by .174 seconds. Those 10th of a seconds can matter with booking and especially if trying to do VQs

I was just walking a 7 month booking at Disneyland. Wow, what a tough time. Up at 4:50 for several days getting shut out each time. I starting hitting the continue button shortly after my clock hit 4:59 and just kept re-searching as quickly as I could until I either got it, or it was gone. It worked on the second day. I estimate it was allowing reservations 2-3 seconds early.

It matches down to the second with time.gov. I don't know about the fractions though lol. That's more than I need, I think. I've always found it harder to book a campsite at our favorite spot in the Smokey Mountains than to book DVC, but then there are a lot more DVC rooms available than riverside spots at Elkmont campground. And honestly we're usually fine with any of the DVC resorts, so I don't sweat it as much I guess.

Time.gov shows you how far off your clock is when you load the site - scroll down and it says what your clock is in a black box. The amount my clocks are off can vary up to a half a second or less. I can tell you there is no way you can book prior to 8am on the dot though with DVC. Definitely not a minute or two. Only way you can do that is if you're actually inside your window. After this post, we ran some tests and figured out when one can search. Then I double checked this past month (finalized it all just a week ago) and they definitely are still very much set up with time.gov. 1/10th second too early and you have to refresh. sometimes even a second or two late and you're shut out. I've sweat some of my booking for DVC thanks to my guys requesting it. Those matter more to me than other times. Not as hard as booking some of our city stuff, but definitely harder than some other things I've booked.

So used time.gov, my pc is off 1.69. Does this mean I'm a minute ahead so I should wait for 8:01 to reserve?

So used time.gov, my pc is off 1.69. Does this mean I'm a minute ahead so I should wait for 8:01 to reserve? Plus or minus? These are also seconds, not minutes shown. At least mine right now says +0.083s so I am a hair ahead. Since even my internet providers vary in actual time, I just have it open in a separate or split screen and watch their site, not my own clocks.

Both my PC and my cell are in the minus; PC -1.680 s, Cell -0.040 s So by opening Time.gov in a separate screen, I would advance when the site says the correct time, right?

You can also run some tests to clock reaction time too. I tend to get the half second pulses in my head (like 120 bpm) and hit immediately when it's going to be 8:00am (or 7am for VQs) but that's a crazy level and takes practice. I do a lot with music and learned 120bpm and still have that good in my head so I'm more confident with my method. For most I'd just say for rooms click when you see it move over to 8am and you should be fine, but don't be slow on the selection page.

Wow I can’t believe trying to get these reservation’s are down to the seconds!! BWV was #1 pick and BCV was #2 for my guys. Literally every where else was open for a 2 bedroom but those were getting snatched within a minute. I did a lot of modifying the last few weeks to make sure I got what they wanted. Some resorts are still open for our days. i think it's due to renovations for BWV. It's usually not this tight.
