For those who have been concerned that I might not get my two BoardWalk standard studios, I’ve finally managed to get them. I've been trying since Nov. 1 (Oct. use year) to book two studios that I can walk into December. It’s a good thing that I started early, because for nearly every day in Oct 2024, the first day to book was already gone by the night before. I finally got the first room on Dec. 1 and the other room today. So, my trip is going according to plan so far. And Helenabear, your timing plan is perfect. I too am a musician and that makes it fairly easy to click right at the stroke of 8:00. Thanks for figuring it out! So very glad to hear this!!! The musician tempo comes in handy on VQs as well

Now, if someone will just drop a 2BR standard @ BWV for the last week of May so my waitlist can be filled, that would be awesome!

Good luck... 2 bedrooms are harder to get via wait list because they are all lockoffs.

Good luck... 2 bedrooms are harder to get via wait list because they are all lockoffs. Oh, I know! But it costs nothing to put in a w/l so that's a bet I almost always take! We've had good luck with 1BR w/l @ BWV, but 2BR is probably tougher as you say.

I do wish BWV had dedicated 2 bedrooms. Booking the trips there is always bit more stressful as one studio ahead of you can wipe out your 2 bedroom need. I've had very good luck with 1 bedrooms - even standards at BWV. I haven't even tried for a 2 bedroom. But never hurts to try. Where is the back up for this one?

There are fewer of these, I believe, than standard view, but they are more points. They used to be harder to get, like day-of booking. Just booked one and dates were still available days later. Never tried 2BR at BWV, only BCV.
Cheers.

Just like I avoid being near the main pool, I want more quiet and less light pollution at night hitting my window. We have done 2 bedrooms a number of times at BWV, but it's always kinda stressful. BCV can be bad too because of less rooms. I nearly bought into BWV but with the lock off only, it was a no go for some of our trips. We do 2 bedrooms for number of beds and pull outs didn't count.

The light is more of an issue, but we also like views of W. 57th St. when we stay in our HGVC NYC timeshare, so this is minor by comparison.
And, for us, there's nothing like sitting there in the morning and evening looking over the Boardwalk toward Spaceship Earth. But I can see it as a love/hate thing.
Cheers.

I sleep with eyes partially open so any extra light is big. I ask to be put off main streets whenever possible in NYC for that reason. My last BW stay I slept extremely poorly and now ask to be way the heck away from the main pool. I try to cover my eyes but they don't always stay all night and Disney's shades often stink at keeping all light out. I dislike most studios since I also have to roll up a towel and block the door light too. Large peep holes get electric tape. TV lights get blocked too. I'm forever covering everything in the room. So unless we want a grumpy me, I want it very dark when possible

Then, as we approached 7m, I looked around and realized that AKV 2BR is exactly 1 point more for the week we're going. So, that was a no brainer. When I saw that BWV was the same price, I put in the w/l. So, if we are at AKV, there will be no tears (that's our other home resort, but a smaller contract).

But AKV is a favorite as well. Very few resorts we don't like though.

We have been able to stay at all the WDD resorts except Poly, and the only reason there is studio only rooms. We'll probably try it out when the new tower opens.

Hitting that next trip though. The PVB studios are nice when it's me and my kid only. Each get our own shower and we just love it there. Looking forward to more and longer stays there though.

Disney's shades often stink at keeping all light out. The "bead chain" roman blinds or whatever they are called at OKW do a poor job, that's for sure. They are too far away from the doors. And ever since we made the one-way transition into 1bd rooms, the GFCI breakers in the bathrooms have those built-in LED nightlights. So I go around and pop the offending outlets. Sometimes housekeeping resets the outlet for me, and I get into bed and realize what's been done and I have to go back over there and "pop". And I have to keep the bathroom door closed (studio or one-bedroom) because there's this frosted window as big as a tv that glows all night from the lights outside the front door. Now this time, I got myself a real nice sleep mask. I can put that baby on and it's pitch black, your eyes don't touch it so you can open your eyes and look all around and nothing. Love it. It tends to bother my ears, though, so I mostly only put it on in the morning. Or if I'm having trouble sleeping it can help convince my brain it's sleepy-time.

I prefer a really dark room when sleeping, but I do love the lake view at BWV. I can never get the two sides of the curtains to stay together, so now I'm wondering if packing a large chip bag clip would solve the problem.
