Does anyone else go back and forth over which resort to try and book? Do you purposely try something new or stick with the one you love? Do you take turns deciding? Do you end up doing split stays?

Not us. We own at BCV and BWV. We stay at BCV and BWV. We look at points and pick based on what we have available. They're so much the same that it's almost interchangeable...except for getting BW View when we stay there.
No splits. And we just talk about it and agree. It matters so little to either of us.
Cheers.

We frequently extend our trips by combining a WDW resort and DVC, often BWI and BWV. I have, in the past, booked a value or moderate prior to BWV, then ended up changing that to BWI or BC.

Yup... next summer I'm unsure of things. PVB will not be ready yet and we just did WL a whole bunch. So not sure where we want to be next summer

This thread is entirely responsible for me booking something at OKW next summer. I should ask our friend if they want to do a GV or something. Forgot to look though I know near HH is gone but would need a HA one for joint issues

I tackled my issues with the skyliner in March but my kid hasn't yet.

Does anyone else go back and forth over which resort to try and book? Do you purposely try something new or stick with the one you love? Do you take turns deciding? Do you end up doing split stays? We usually book home resorts at 11 months and attempt to change at 7 months. Works most times. Half our points are at BLT but rarely stay there. DH would be happy to stay at OKW or BWV every time, I am happier at SSR or BCV, both home resorts. Next trip will be at BLT, not sure how I feel about that as MK is our least favorite park.

Just like brp I too stick to my BWV and BC. I love being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios.

We book where we own (BLT) at 11 months out and then pick one that we haven't been to and try to get it at 7 months in order to try different places. So far, at WDW, we haven't done:
- Riviera (Booked for this Dec) - Grand Floridian (will do next year sometime, if possible) - Beach Club (eventually!)
We really like BLT and OKW so we do those two a lot. I really like WL, but my wife is less enthusiastic about that place so we've only been once, but I want to go again soon!

We have a plan to stay at all of the resorts, eventually. We’ve made it to Riviera, Kidani, VGF, BLT, and BW. I would totally stay at any of them again if they’re available. It depends on who we’re with and what we’re doing. It also depends on if we can save on points and stay somewhere “cheaper”. But I love Riviera, and I think we’ll love staying at VGF too. We usually prefer the non-bus transportation though, so that will probably limit the stays at those resorts.
But once we pick, and I’ve secured the reservation, I won’t keep looking. We think we might do split stays in the future. Maybe if the trip is long enough? But I’m generally not a fan of split stays. I’m the one that does the packing, and who wants to do that when on vacation? But there are reasons to do them.

This is exactly why I have 4 same-use-year contracts at BLT. We typically book at 11 months for BLT, then waitlist for somewhere else we might enjoy. About half the time it comes through, but if it doesn't we're perfectly happy at our home resort.

Does anyone else go back and forth over which resort to try and book? Do you purposely try something new or stick with the one you love? Do you take turns deciding? Do you end up doing split stays? We rotate mostly between Poly and BLT (all our points are at Poly), but I also really like BWV a lot. I am going to be at Disney for 3 nights by myself for the first time ever. I am very excited about it. I cannot decide between staying where I love or trying something new (or going cheap). Its just over 2 months out. My wife and one of our kiddos will be there with for me for 3 nights at BLT. I have one extra night booked there and 2 nights at BWV. But I also have a studio for 2 nights at OKW and GF each. So I am trying to decide what I am going to do. I am usually more decisive, but I am having trouble deciding on this stay. We do split stays about half the time. We have stayed at Poly, BLT, BWV, AKV, and WL with DVC. Hitting GF this year for sure.

Before we ever stayed at DVC, we thought split stays would be a no for us. But because of the timing on our first DVC trip, we ended up doing a split stay and found out we actually enjoy that. 6 years later, we've yet to have a trip that wasn't a split stay!
We also decided that we wanted to try every WDW DVC resort eventually. At this point, the only one we haven't tried is Poly, and that's only because we want 1BR and that's not an option there (yet!).
We've enjoyed every resort, but we have found ourselves back at BWV or BC the most - we also love the boardwalk convenience. We also love AKV & Wilderness Lodge resorts because of the beauty of the lobbies there. Like many others, we book at 11 months and see what's available at 7 - and often change.

I’m always looking at availability “just in case” …out of curiosity. That new Riviera Tower Studio for one seems to be very popular and difficult to book so I imagine the new duo Tower will be really really impossible at the Grand California. That will be fun to monitor those calendar months online…just in case .
Does anybody ever wish they had purchased just enough points to stay one night / 11 month window at every resort ? Do you think 50 points or 100 would be enough for a Sampler Membership? I wonder if anybody did that when they offered 25 point purchases. I guess there must be at least one person that owns at every DVC resort … maybe ?
