I keep getting emails, but we will not be going. We're home, but not worth going to SoCal for this.
Cheers.

VD is unfortunate you know?
I saw DLT prior to VDH. Don't care which honestly. Chances of me staying will be next to nil with the taxes.
Might watch Thursday, probably not though.

So....Not sure if anyone watched the grand opening, I see no updates.
I like the split bath in the studios with a walk-in shower.
Lots of colors, not sure if I like it or not in the rooms.
I feel like the theming is a mish-mash of things.
The Grand Villa is stunning.....Love that outdoor space!
Overall, the layouts are similar to the current previous new builds.

I fully agree Tom, the grand villa was just stunning.
I watched a video where the guy saw around a studio, a 1-bed and a GV. Plus he did quite an extensive walk about showing lots of the murals on the walls. I’ll see if I can work out which one.
They’ve used a lot of very nicely themed art work both in the rooms and along the common areas like hallways. I like that, In the same way I really liked looking at all the photos and memorabilia at Riviera, the trains in the Carolwood Pacific room at BRV and the reading room at OKW.
I thought the bathrooms were really nicely done, but the fact those were the highlight speaks volumes IMO. I’d be happy enough to stay there, the rooms were well laid out with good storage. But frankly the transient tax plus the points charts is a big deterrent to me. If we do get to DL I suspect we’ll stay offsite and simply go and look around the resort.

I watched the grand opening. It was interesting...
I do like the GV and the design overall not bad. Too much mish mash of stuff though. No cohesion. Lack of balcony is huge to me though in many if the rooms. The toilet location was weird in the 1 bed too.

What’s this tax that several people have mentioned? Are they charging tax to DVC owners?!?

What’s this tax that several people have mentioned? Are they charging tax to DVC owners?!? It’s a tax that everyone pays staying in a hotel room, like they have in Aulani. For VGC it’s small (less than $1 per point) and is rolled into the maintenance fees. For VDH it will be paid at the point of stay and Anaheim have increased the way it is calculated . I want to say it’s around $2.83 per point per night.

This is a tourist tax for Hawaii & California only, I think…per State Tourist Accommodations … Tax and fees? Please clarify, Thanks (. Here’s hoping Florida doesn’t find a way to increase Tourist taxes) … .. if it has been a while since you have visited the area surrounding WDW …the toll roads and overhead toll readers are increasing non stop . Better be prepared . If a certain governor can find a way to strangle a certain resorts traffic in and around , I suspect it might be a goal but that’s just my suspicions .

MD at least Ocmd has the a hotel tax applied, so not something that tourist areas are immune, to. Coming into DE beaches via Rt 1 they charge more on weekends. That said coming from over charging, NJ bridges tolls, including crossing over to Philly. I’ve had no problem with it or FL toll prices. We have a sun pass only because son was going to school there and if we flew into MCO headed north we had tolls. If we visited him and headed to Disney we had tolls. I don’t like paying the rent a car companies extra money to use there pass. Prior we just went to Disney, no car and never left until going back to MCO.
