I trust and thank Tom but you make it sound like you are also in the know . Please add your source and your location . And what does “Global Moderator” mean ? Nicky is pretty good source of WDW knowledge, she could easily work for Robin as a travel agent.

I am just suggesting we discuss this with the current policies in mind Disney must factor into the new equation the Genie+ and the Lightnin Lane and the Park Passes in January 9, 2024 math Inasmuch as very little has been announced, this is pretty much all speculation, both the doomsday scenarios here and some of he more positive takes. All speculation.
For those of us that don't use it now, this can't possibly be a negative. Either it is worse, and we continue not to use it - net zero. Or it does allow pre-booking of rides at a price similar to FP+, then it's a positive.
No way to lose. Only potential upside. What's not to like?
And if it works well, but it somewhat complicated so that only some spend the time to learn it, all the better.

I will agree with Bruce to a degree....
We have always been exploiters of the various Disney systems. We have always found a way to make "xyz" work for us, more so than most people. I do think that it will be a negative to the average park visitor and I think that newbies are gonna be hurt by further changes/complications.

While we are very hands off at moderation, she still can approve memberships & rental threads, move threads, edit private info out of posts etc. Standard moderators have more limited abilities. Global means it works on all sub forums and such. |

If they're looking to drive attendance down more they need to keep at the complicated stuff. I thought we were getting better with park reservations and stuff but nope. Even my friends we travel with who go every year struggled to keep up with the changes. An advantage for those who do and can learn, bad for newbies and even average park goers. |

Agree on both counts, sort of. The average park goer who doesn't use Genie+, of course, will not be impacted at all. Same for the newbies not using them. It's a NOP for them.
As to the implications for those who do use it, since the details are not yet known, we don't know how it will impact people. Being able to do this in advance may make it simpler in that it's easier to see what's available before plunking down the bucks. Maybe not. From what I've seen, we don't know yet.
But, yes, a more complicated system with a learning curve benefits some and not others. Being in the former group at most things travel related, I welcome it.
But we shall see.

I do know a couple of what might be termed “insiders” - but that’s as far as any inside knowledge goes. And I don’t name or quote them unless they OK it first. As for the “Global Moderator” tag, it just means I can moderate across all the sub forums. I guess there could be specific moderators for say the Rental Forum, for example. But I don’t have Admin status, because I made helenabear well aware of my lack of technical expertise lol! I’ll happily stick to doing what I can safely do to help keep things running without taking the entire forum down.  Edit: Forgot to add, I’m from Edinburgh, Scotland. |

Since you were previously banned how did you find us? Curious what your username was. I don't agree with banning people because of a fight but this post has me curious how you got here. This was a direct result of Kim not having a real desire to continue the old site. Also MO always had an international group. I hear a lot of non American born people when I travel. |
