I am saddened by the probability of Geyser point being turned into a table service venue. So much for the best kept secret! I had not heard this until now, but this is a serious bummer. Unless we can still hang at the bar and grab a small snack, then it's OK.
Cheers.

I guess the distinction was lost on me. seems that we can still do what we want to do and grab a snack at the bar, so all is good.
Cheers.

Even if Geyser started accepting reservations the bar would almost definitely still be available for walk-up. Just like most places.
I selfishly wish it did start accepting rservations. Wailulu, too. Just so I could park at both without issues, ha.
Agreed the pocket gardens will only be for those staying on property. Even then they might have issues with supply versus demand, depending on how nice they are...

If the Wailulu bar and grill is only walk up, I'll invite you over when we're staying at the tower so you can park there and check it out some time. I just knew when we were booking to go next year LOL. We do have spring break, but just at the long houses and it will be a Monday through Thursday trip only. Given the way dining is at the Polynesian right now, I kind of do hope that they have the new one to be walk up only. I know, sounds awful, but so many people overrun the lobby at the great ceremonial house building already for 'Ohana. So I'm being selfish here. But you could always come for a good drink after a morning at Magic Kingdom too easily.

Does anyone think the new dining additions at Polynesian tower will only create more crowdedness? It’s already popular as is, and now everyone will want to try out the new Poly dining for a few years.

I think it will really depend on how hard it is to get into the tower as a whole and if the grill is walk up only or not. This is why selfishly I hope it is like GP has been and is walk up only.

Man....DVC is really dragging out the release of Poly Tower for sale. They are really putting the sales and booking windows in a very short window. We are 3.5 months out from opening. If they opened sales this weekend, reservations wouldn't open for another 3 weeks, and another week or two for other DVC members. But wow....that is like only a 2 month window.

I don't know for a fact either, but I would absolutely not be surprised if that is the way they are going to go at least at first. Course rumors now are that guys are point will be ADR in the next few weeks, but we'll see where that goes as well. Man....DVC is really dragging out the release of Poly Tower for sale. I am actually really thrilled now that I did not wait to find out the starting price for sales for PVB before I decided which way to buy. If I need more, I will buy direct, but it's going to be a lower number that would be a pain in the butt to try and find probably in resale anyway. Resale numbers are really stagnant right now too, because I think people are waiting. Flights for what would be our summer trip (at least going down to Florida) will be released in a month for Southwest. I'm going to be really annoyed if I don't have points charts by then. This is becoming honestly ridiculous. I would not be surprised if someone was thinking that holding off would be good for cabin sales or if someone screwed something up since it is not able to be sold in all jurisdictions yet. Is some legal thing holding it up? I have no idea, but I am beyond annoyed at this point. I really wanted to stay there next summer but if I can't guarantee a resort soon, I'm going to feel like I have to go elsewhere. And I really had no desire to stay anywhere else next summer.

My 'conspiracy theory' is that they aren't sure yet how many floors of the Tower they're actually going to be able to open on time.

My 'conspiracy theory' is that they aren't sure yet how many floors of the Tower they're actually going to be able to open on time. I actually don't think that is it. Mostly because of the room types they already put to be available for opening day via cash. Also the interiors seem to be fairly well along. It's more the exteriors that have me wondering, but they can do some things really fast. I just want that darn walk way to Grand Floridian back open too. I think there is something beyond just opening date that's making this problematic for them to release too early. My gut points towards the cabins. Their sales are dismal and I think they expected to be a little further along than they are right now. That could also be why more stuff is going on in the old Reflections area. It could be that they're going to merge the two together so that the cabins are not just stand alone.

I booked two nights at cabins at Fort Wilderness October 1 & 2. Sometime that trip, I'll visit Poly to check out the construction. Those pocket gardens look great. I assume they will be for tower guests only and likely crazy crowded during fireworks times. That could easily be enough for me to add a night on some future trip at a tower room, just to check them out (if I'm right about them being for tower guests only - - just a guess, could very easily be wrong). I’m not sure they could be for Tower guests only. It’s all one resort. To my mind it would be like having a lounge at SSR but exclude the treehouses guests. Or limit the community hall at Kidani to only Kidani guests, excluding Jambo guests. But maybe they will.

I imagine it would be easy to do this in terms of technology. I understand what you mean about it being all the same resort though. I suppose we'll find out for sure at the end of this year though. I have a March trip in the long houses with my kid. We have a lake view so I would not be probably jumping to hang out in one even if I were allowed to though. I imagine some of the other longhouse guests might want to though. I could see them easily keeping non-DVC out who stay at the Polynesian though.
