So it looks like TSI and Rivers of America will be taken down for the new Carsland rides. Villians will go behind HM. We'll see on Indy ride as I will miss Dinosaur but as Tom said, Dinoland need a lot attention due to neglect and taking down Primeval Whirl for a stroller lot. Disney really needs to expand, not replace rides in Epcot, DAK, and DHS. MK has a ton of stuff and I think adding Villians is a good idea. Will miss TSI and the serenity of the area with Rivers of America. I will miss the Rivers of America, too. It's peaceful along the boardwalk. Our friends are going to be disappointed. They ride the river boat every trip. You really need some quieter places since the MK can be overwhelming. So many people.

Not sure I see Cars land in MK - HS to me would seem a better fit.

Very disappointed to read the plans to remove Rivers of America and TSI. Those were great things to do when hot or crowded. I had thought there were spots they could have added instead of removed. Bad IMO.
The Dinosaur area has been really sad for a really long time. Honestly adding Primeval Whirl and the 'carnival' area was a massive mistake in my mind. They're going to make it better. Sounds like Dinosaur is more than a rebadge. Pity it will likely be out for a long time because again, new additions are needed, not redos.

I guess the earliest we’ll see any of this completed is 2028.
Permits are imminent on the MK Cars land. I’m gutted at today’s confirmation that both TSI and the Rivers of America are going.
I think AK will be next to start.
As for Monsters Inc, it’s only taken 17 years + for the doors coaster to happen. And there’s still no final decision as to whether it goes in Animation Courtyard or replaces Star Tours & Muppets. The concept art showed what appears to be both locations!
D23 was also memorable for the confused concept art in general. For the Lion King ride in Paris, it clearly showed logs with single seater configuration and the new version of LK, whereas the model shows seating like Splash and the original animated version. The latter has since been confirmed as correct.

I'm getting to the age where I'm too old to care, but my opinion is that WDW has jumped the shark when it comes to theme and lands. It started with the gutting of DHS, removing the GMR and the Citizens of Hollywood. Then came Guardians and the former Future World in Epcot. I am one who likes having a few unique rides in each Disney park location. WDW doesn't need Cars, because Cars is a DL attraction. It doesn't make any sense in Frontierland from a "this is Frontierland" perspective, unless the ultimate vision is to get rid of Frontierland, since many frontier stories are culturally insensitive. None of this will keep me form enjoying WDW, but I will have many "WTF were they thinking" moments in the parks. I still want to know why Starlord says, "No one's gonna stop rock and roll from existing" when the songs on the ride are mostly not rock and roll

Not sure I see Cars land in MK - HS to me would seem a better fit. I so agree with this. The current Disney management philosophy of cram in every IP to replace previous things that made WDW unique is sad. MK is the most visited park and they keep adding to it and wonder why Epcot, DHS, DAK keep having lower attendance. That and closing DAK at 6pm is ridiculous. It's sad that there are paying guests that have never seen Pandora at night.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttt Muppet Courtyard is a strong contender for this. BUT if it is then word is that Muppets will be moved. 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Slinky Dog Dash wouldn't even fit in that space though - and that's not a huge and fancy coaster. Just seems like it would have to be shoe horned in for one ride. Most everywhere I read states Animation Courtyard. But Disney is full of dumb moves lately so who knows. Dumb if they spent all that time redoing parts for the theater just to remove it immediately.

I agree that Animation Courtyard is the most obvious choice. It has the room and could easily expand behind Launch Bay.
Indy was also considered but is apparently safe for be now, maybe because it’s high capacity.
But Muppets courtyard is pretty big when you include Mamma Melrose and Pizza Rizzo. The Muppets building is pretty big. It has the backdrop of Grand Avenue and the whole area could be blocked off, still leaving the Grand Avenue to GE open until the final stages of the entrance.
Whether Muppets survives as is but moved elsewhere, or something else is planned involving Muppets, apparently they are “safe” in terms of presence. The HoP rumor is resurfacing, as is using another theatre.
At this point the scales are tipping towards Muppets Courtyard. We have to wait for the final decision. And this may turn out to be a casualty anyway. Last time we had such major announcements, both Main St Theatre and Mary Poppins got axed. Even after shovels were in the ground (for the theatre).

While I always look forward to the new rides and attractions with great anticipation, my heart will mourn the loss of TSI and Rivers of America. They’ve always been one of our quiet places to slow down and catch our breath in between all the busy. Guess I am feeling rather nostalgic today…

A map to do overlays and included Star Tours. More as an FYI. One of the rumors states that WDI has weeks to decide... except they aren't the ones who do apparently. Different sources say different things for sure so we'll see what they do, but definitely not all agree about where the scale is tipping across many sites.
