So there were lots of announcements last night:
Villains themed land coming to MK 2 new cars themed rides for frontierland monsters, inc themed land @ HS, including a hanging roller coaster (ride a door) Indiana Jones and Encanto rides @ AK (replacing the dino area) New nighttime parade
I'm sure I missed a lot of them, but that's a nice haul. Some (parade) starting next year. Others in 3 years. We'll see if they can build that quickly - it would be a nice change from recent construction projects (Tron & everything at Epcot).

There will be a carousel for the Puebla Esperanza area too. If they don't scale back it will look nice
Test Track to open in 2025. Sounds vastly different. More of a mesh of old with the idea of growing technology. Nod back to World of Motion maybe? I dunno as it sounded odd to me.
New restaurant Pirate themed in MK. Open in 2025.
New Zootopia show in AK.
Epcot Spaceship Earth Lounge. From pics it looks like the building behind SSE will be repurposed.
Still no PVB point chart though.

I am very excited about the new nighttime parade! It opens next summer and it’s called Disney Starlight.
And Monsters Inc land ! Woohoo!
Lots of good news!

Woke up this morning and Youtube had fed my phone a 25-second announcement of the new parade. It briefly showed concept art...and I have to say, the SpectroMagic music started running in my head.
I am one of the seemingly very small group that will be sad to see Dinoland go.

I had to go look up this SSE Lounge, because I've been saying that for years. Cool idea, which the art had more of a "future 1970s" vibe but what do I know.
I copied this quote from another site: "Disney says the zen space for families to gather and enjoy refreshments will be draped with rich textures and warm metallic tones, giving it a mysterious and elegant intimacy." Yes, except for the mad rush of people and insane need to get in there and get your instagram pictures and people fighting for reservations. It drives me crazy that I might be the Debbie Downer guy, but in my experience Trader Sam's isn't even fun because of the hype, Mizner's USED to be a cozy place and now it's a photo-spot, and I'm not going to fight the crowds to get up to Space 220.

They do sound interesting, but I wonder what we'll lose.
I'm torn on replacing Dino Land. On the one hand, I like the ride and it is never crowded. This is sure to bring more people. OTOH, a new theme (my understanding is that this will be the same track and just new skins) could be interesting. Encanto could be fun as well.
Cheers.

I'm guessing Dinosaur will be Indiana Jones like DLR. Not sure it will be that different. The other lands are expansions. They've talked about it previously too. Not replacing AFAIK. Which is good. I'm tired of construction getting in the way.

So they will just expand the boundaries of the park for the new lands? I also like that better. I mean, they have the land...unlike DL. Might as well use it.
At HS, I guess they could take over the space occupied by the Star Wars hotel
Cheers.

No announcement of a Figment redo - Boooooooo
I don't get this statement from the announcement "A new Indy experience is set to arrive in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and will be different from any other Indiana Jones experience around the world.". Is this just the re-theming of the Dinosaur ride as we all heard was coning or is this something new? If this is just the re-theming of Dinosaur it would be the same as DL and something different from any other.
Warning wild ass opinion below... While some of the stuff sounds cool I am probably one of the few that is not sure that expansion is what WDW needs. Expansion brings a need for more infrastructure and can the current parks really handle more people? are the already crowded walkways wide enough? how about the extra guest shoehorning themselves down Main Street so they can watch the castle during fireworks? what about the increase in operational cost from the extra employees need to run these new areas? Disney is facing more and more completion not just from Universal but from all types of travel. The cost of a week at WDW is about the same as a week in Europe and all of the cruise companies are adding more ships mostly aimed at family travel. Even Disney announced four new ships which brings their total to something like seven which if you figure those ships average 3-4,000 guest at anyone time that is 25,000 people that would probably be at a Disney Park if not on the cruise because if they aren't "Disney people" that would probably be on a different cruise line. I am in favor of changing current rides and bringing in current IP I am just nor sure that massive expansions are the way to do. I will say that Disney has people much smarter than I looking at the business case and I just have to have faith they know what they are doing.

I agree with your thoughts about the MK expansion. I am all for new rides and attractions, but would it not be better served in a new park? I welcome the new night time parade. Its about time they brought back the night time entertainment. The two new areas will be real nice additions, if they go in as proposed.
What is left of Dinosaur area of AK is a mess and needs to be fixed. Indy ride redo of Dinosaur would not be my first choice. I would have preferred a Coco ride instead of Encanto. But realistically, how coll would a Zootopia Area been for that area? By the renderings, it appears that the Dino Play area is also being removed. In summary, we had three rides, a restaurant, a play area, a arcade area.....The new area will have a re-themed Dinosaur ride, a carousel and a dark ride based on Ecanto. Sounds like a downgrade to me from the original.
One thing to keep in mind is that the Magic and Wonder are about 5 years to their end of life. 30 years is a long time for a cruise ship. I expect them both to go away in 5 years.
No love for Epcot....disappointing that they are shelving previously announced stuff for the park.
DHS expansion could be good. The one thing about the park is people flow is terrible. This will no help it and only make it worse. Overall, I think its a plus to the park.

California Adventure is getting lots of love! Not one, but two new rides at Avengers Campus. A Coco ride. Avatar land that will be water based. These are all a huge plus.
I think the addition of a Monsters Inc ride at HS is a huge plus. The additions of 2 Cars Land rides and a Villains' Lands with 2 rides at MK is also huge. Though, I agree with the questions of whether or not MK really needs more. Epcot did get a bit hosed. I'm slightly positive on AK. Lose Dinosaur and get Indiana Jones and Encanto. Also, a new Zootopia show in place of It's Tough to Be a Bug.
Overall IMO, if 75% of this occurs, it is an overall big plus.

Competition is a good thing. Epic Universe is going to change up some of the Orlando theme park dynamics. Between that opening next year and the drop in (domestic) park income reported recently, Disney needed a win. I would love to see this become that win for Disney and guests.
So here's hoping these announced new attractions happen. Several seem like iterations of prior annoucements, which I take as a good thing for continuing commitment to a concept.

So it looks like TSI and Rivers of America will be taken down for the new Carsland rides. Villians will go behind HM. We'll see on Indy ride as I will miss Dinosaur but as Tom said, Dinoland need a lot attention due to neglect and taking down Primeval Whirl for a stroller lot.
Disney really needs to expand, not replace rides in Epcot, DAK, and DHS. MK has a ton of stuff and I think adding Villians is a good idea. Will miss TSI and the serenity of the area with Rivers of America.
