After 4 1/2 hours - MS full; call dropped after an 84 minute wait; after another hour plus, finally got someone to assist…who after trying unsuccessfully to access the new hotel system had to return me to the line, where I waited for another hour and 12 minutes - I finally had the pleasure of reserving a weekday standard view studio for two nights in early December. All other views are sold out.
We will be taking GGS to see the Christmas decorations. Hopefully, we can switch to a point reservation along the way.
BTW, was told that the garden view studios have balconies.

I am reading that the DVC discount was not offered for every room.

Just realised there is virtually no storage for food, and no counter space apart from the tin6 area in front of the coffee maker. I’d barely be able to lay out basic breakfast items, and heaven help anyone who wants a coffee as well. As for cooking dinner, I’d have to use the dining table to chop anything. Which means it would then need to be wiped down in the 5 minutes it takes to cook a stir fry. Clearly they don’t expect anyone to actually use the kitchen at DL. I really really really wanted an in- but many reasons it’s gonna be a hard pass for us. But honestly once the room configurations came out I have no interest. We will squish into a 1 bedroom when necessary but a studio is just too tight. Studio top heavy is bad enough but all the Duos make staying there for us a no-go. For me kids are grown (ish) but we still take 1 disney trip together yearly. I am not sharing a bed nor booking 3 Dos per trip. That full kitchen makes a huge difference for us - do I cook elaborate meals in the kitchen nope but coffee and breakfast that’s a thing…- side note we stayed @vgc end of January in 1 bdr -As you said I don’t think they expect people to actually cook in California, no spatulas of any kind! Day 1 called mousekeeping - and asked, nothing, Day 2 called again tried making eggs with the only utensil in the room a slotted spoon. Day 3 called again made poached eggs cause day 2 disaster- drove over to the nearest dollar tree and bought myself a set - for the rest of the week…Day 7 check out still nothing from mousekeeping. Was very happy when we got over to Wyndham Oceanside Pier. Honestly I wish the DVC powers that be would take a peak at how Wyndham stocks and supplies their kitchens. It’s definitely one category they do better than DVC

I am reading that the DVC discount was not offered for every room. No discounts after September bookings. Called back this morning via Magic Key reservation line. Much better experience! It was a 38 minute wait. I was able to reserve a preferred view studio. Thinking they may have a set aside a certain amount of room configurations for each priority group as the preferred view was sold out yesterday for DVC. All in for two early December week nights - Studio: Standard view, $1495 Preferred view, $1703 Garden view, $1869 (balcony) 1 bed: Preferred view, $2812

Thanks for posting. I was confused at first that the Garden Duo and Studios were missing, but instead they are on the chart to the right of the Grand Villas.

I was busy for a few hours and was a bit lazy in searching. Interesting info and definitely something to know about before staying.

Wow! So basically Disney was spreading out the tax amongst owners, but now wants to charge the each resort guest? If so, will this raise more money with the resort guest tax vs. the current owner assessment paid thru dues? And they could change the current collection at VGC? Wow!
