Wow! So basically Disney was spreading out the tax amongst owners, but now wants to charge the each resort guest? If so, will this raise more money with the resort guest tax vs. the current owner assessment paid thru dues? And they could change the current collection at VGC? Wow! This is the way..... Actual, a lot of vacation destinations have been targeting tourists with taxes like that. Its a great way for an area to raise taxes, but not on its own citizens. Which is why it has become popular.

Yes they were charging it to VGC owners from my understanding. I am unsure how it can change for VGC.

I forgot to post that here, thanks. I wonder how this will affect sales or bookings.

I found the nightly tax rates to be fairly shocking. I have gladly paid it at Aulani, but it turns out that Aulani is only about 1/3 as much per night as the Disneyland Hotel Villas. At Aulani, it is calculated based on Annual Dues and tax rate (13.25%). The Anaheim TOT is 15%, which explains some of the difference, but why is this new resort at $2.73 more than 5 times the amount at GCV? Does this mean astronomically high Annual Dues? Have the first year estimates been announced yet?

I do think this will kill some sales and some bookings tbh. DLR has so many good options near by that this feels like a no go for me if my back ever allowed me to easily make that trip again.

So the transient tax is $2.73 per point per night. And DVC have produced a chart detailing the cost for each room type for the year. A studio at the cheapest time will cost $35 a night, a 2-bed at the same time will cost $117 per night. This is surely going to hit sales. Not if the sales weasels don't mention it.

It is how Seattle financed all the new stadiums. Interesting thing is they had a sunset clause, but before it had even reached that, they had essentially decided to let it run in perpetuity. Nothing like good o' third party payer.

Pretty sure I’ve seen $9 for dues ( obviously not exactly that).
And I think an article somewhere said the way the tax is calculated has been revised recently.
