I don't think we'll get specifics on opening date until some time 2nd half of next year. To be honest they said late 2024 so I doubt they're going to give specifics anytime soon given we're probably over a year out from opening date |

I notice, everytime I am on the monorail In past 2 weeks, one room is completely covered with blue paper or something to keep the inside hidden .
Alll of the other rooms are not shrouded in secrecy.
I think they will show us a picture of the new Buildings exterior at the Annual Condo Meeting .
The DVC Guides are excited about this since they got a sneak peek reveal and No pictures allowed !

Wishful thinking on my part! I know... I'm just trying to keep my moody temper in check. Sometimes I'm like "I need to know, take my money" and other times I'm like "whatever Disney, you've annoyed me one too many times, not buying and don't care" but mostly somewhere in between so trying to be realisitic. I think they have done a good job of hiding in the past. I know it even took BRV refurb a while to show up. Who knows. I am curious how nice they really are - I got a hint that they looked amazing in mock ups in 2022. Looking forward to seeing it all though. |

The Cabins will open first because they are just pulling off the old trailer, putting in a new trailer. (I know I am simplifying, but.....it's true.) Whereas the Poly Tower needs to be completely done to get its final permit and approval from the state to open. The biggest contraction impact for the trailers is going to be the pool complex. No big infrastructure upgrades, no big chiller plants, no lengthy demolitions....just easy peasy pre-fab trailers.

I know that I posted this before, but DVC Sales models over at SSR should be under construction by now for the two new resorts. In the past, you could get sneak peaks of the units if you were lucky. They use those rooms to test furniture, finishes and training before the actual resorts are complete. When I go at the end of December, I plan on snooping around some since I will be staying at SSR.

We are mostly studio dwellers. When we go to SSR with the grandkids it will be a two bedroom. But, I am having a hard time accepting these renovations and slowly removing things that made them “ deluxe”. No more jacuzzi tubs, removing fans from the ceilings, no more “ real plates, mugs and glassware” in studios ( upon request only), and now removing table and chairs? No, I am not giving Disney anymore money until they keep to the “ deluxe” accommodations I initially bought into.

Since we are allowed to pool hop except to storm along bay and the main Poly pool. Resort hopping has been suspended since the Covid re-opening, with no sign of it returning. With the additional facilities they seem to be adding here I’m having a hard time believing this will just be an extension of the existing Poly association. I think this is looking more like CCV vs BRV (or VWL). This is not my experience at all... I have been resort hoping all year in WDW, heading down for my 10th visit of 2023 tomorrow (I have a client there so get to double dip on trips). The only time resort hoping has been a remote issue is bringing a personal vehicle as they are sensitive at some resorts about the parking situation. Uber/Lyft never have issues. |
