This was rumoured way back before G+ came in, but it’s now a reality. It’s only for Deluxe Resort guests, including DVC. Priced per park, no hopping option. Variable pricing. One entry per ride only. There’s a DLR version, valid for both parks. That one seems identical to the DLP version, similar pricing too. Link here: disneyworld.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes/lightning-lane-premier/

This seems like a challenge to their VIP tours. I wonder how, if at all, it will impact them. I’m minded to think the core VIP tour guest will continue to book them, but those that were considering it as a time-saving option for one day will divert to the Premier Access pass.

The pricing is in-line to what I expected, especially for Magic Kingdom. This is a direct competition to VIP tours and the pricing and restrictions reflect that middle ground.
I can tell you that Club 33 members are not happy at all on this rollout. They feel that its another "reduction" of their memberships value.

Prices for Lightning Lane Premier Passes vary by date and theme park. Launch prices will range from $129 to $449 per person, plus tax, with the highest prices falling on a limited number of days over peak travel periods. Here are the ranges for each park:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $129 to $199 per person, plus tax EPCOT: $169 to $249 per person, plus tax Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $269 to $349 per person, plus tax Magic Kingdom: $329 to $449 per person, plus tax

The limited sales is a joke.....if it sells out every day, Disney will increase the number of available tickets. Disney will destroy the what the Lightning Lane access is suppose to do by filling it with more and more paid options.

This is in line with some other parks even outside of USF... I don't mind paying now and then for something like this. Disney really screwed up by not offering perks to Deluxe over other ages ago and now we lost portions of deluxe rooms to DVC to fill the gaps. Compared to USF, Disney is still behind. But I'd pay once in a while. Kind of like above, Disney really misses the mark with this stuff. I see why those like Club 33 are miffed. Truly will diminish VIP tours too as those lines are long (why I haven't booked one in a couple years). Reaffirms my status in thinking Club 33 should be on my back burner. I was considering putting my name on in a year or so. Now? I think it will be a pass for me. Lounges alone aren't worth it.

The whole idea of booking a tour you didn't want to get fast passes to rides was a loophole from the beginning. All it did was waste a CMs time walking families to rides they'd rather manage themselves. With this they can do so, and not have to buy a tour. Tours were also limited in that Disney could only sell as many of them as they wanted to staff guides. With this they can sell as many as they choose. So it's not a challenge to their tours as much as a way to sell the part of a tour people wanted to so many more people for a little less than a tour.

Disney will destroy the what the Lightning Lane access is supposed to do by filling it with more and more paid options. What will it destroy? It's "supposed to" maximize revenue by charging for time-saving features, and it will do that. Having an option to take lots of money from people willing to spend lots of money is a good thing. Something for every spend level. So I don't see a problem with it. At $400 I wouldn't buy this when I can spend a fraction of that and get on every ride in the park. This is just a way to be easy for anyone who's time / value proposition is beyond having to do things like get up early or plan a next ride on your phone. You can just walk from ride to ride and skip any line like a VIP. Does anyone on this board really have a hard time riding what you want at MK in a day? We were just there this weekend and rode Tron (twice), Space, Buzz, HM, Thunder, Tiana, a few small things, and left the park by 12:30, got to EPCOT, and a virutal queue for Guardians. We were up at 6 tho. With this pass you could show up at noon and do all that.

I could see this being potentially useful for Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios if on a quick trip, but not really useful at Animal Kingdom or Epcot at all.
I am surprised that they do not have a hopper option, although I am sure that after the pilot, one will be added. Can’t even fathom what the price for that would be though.

We used it for better entrances and exits to the parks and transportation between as well. But for some it will be. The lines for VIP tours were getting long and 7 hours is a lot for me so we are skipping. This at least would allow us to take breaks and use off and on all day. No complaints there except Disney needs to do better with ILL line management to begin with

Safe to say that Disney has lost their way and become just another theme park trying to extract every last cent from their customers.
so much for that Disney difference.

Still wouldn’t buy this though.
