The timeline for Riviera was:

Jan 2017 Resort announced
Jan 2019. Room designs/layouts and resort amenities/dining revealed
Jan 2019. Opening date announced as “Fall 2019”
Jan 2019 Cash bookings opened for Dec 2019 onwards
Jan 2019. New resale restrictions announced for all new resorts
March 2019 Specific opening date announced as 16th Dec 2019,
March 2019. Pricing and point charts revealed
27th March 2019 Sales to existing DVC owners started
10th April 2019. Bookings on points opened for Riviera owners
15th April 2019. Sales to general public started
May 2019. Booking on points started for all other DVC owners

Based on that I’m hoping to get clarity by the first of the year on the Poly tower. Hopefully.

I'd hope for similar. The new builds seem to have different timelines than conversions.

That’s interesting. They didn’t hang about after starting sales to opening the resort. Or, perhaps, they didn’t bother starting to sell until it was pretty near ready.

Yep it was fast. I remember buying in Jan '15 and booking was very shortly after. I booked a bungalow with new points and some studios for other family with OKW points and I think those were not far apart (for an Oct trip). That's harder for me to loom up though. But it was fast.

I just watched a YouTube updated video for July regarding the construction on the Poly and GF. It launched about 2 hours ago. From the footage, it seems as if the new Poly tower is far smaller than the Riviera. If this new build ends up being a different association than the Poly- it is going to be very difficult to get into.
